am reading The Walking Dead graphic novel,
and am listening to The Stand audio book while working.
(after finishing World War Z)
and was now listening to a podcast about the black plague (on SYSK).
apparently obsessed with apocalyptic scenarios.
Bright Star was such a beautiful movie.
is that where the butterfly gif is from?
(found it randomly on tumblr)
i havent seen it yet.
i like Ben Whishaw . must check it out. :)
It is. It's a beautifully shot film. It's also sad as all hell, and will make you cry.
the World War Z audio book is fantastic.
super thumbs up: the walking dead.
not so much the t.v. show....
but you can't win 'em all.
the show's first few episodes i liked.
but the last few of the first season really let me down.
still interesting to watch and compare.
i totally agree. i was on board with the minor differences, even some of the major ones, at the beginning of the season. but that last episode....
I'm into all of these things! Totally into the zombie/post apocalyptic stuff as well. I read The Stand a few months ago - my lady is a life long Stephen King fan and recommended it to me as one of his best early novels. Randall Flagg is one of the best characters I've encountered in literature - the visual that Stephen King creates of him using only words is so vivid and terrifying. But if I'm gonna be honest I like Trashcan Man the best - MY LIFE FOR YOU!
They're making a movie of World War Z right now - with Brad Pitt and Mireille Enos from The Killing and Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad. It's being directed by Marc Forster, who did Monster's Ball and The Kite Runner.
The Walking Dead comics are AMAZING. AMAZING. Some of the best graphic novels I've read in a while. What a great take on the not just the zombie thing but the post-Armageddon idea.
